Wild Wonder story
Ollie and the Waving Arms
Every fish on the reef swam wide around Nell's waving arms — except one small, brave clownfish who was about to discover the safest home in the whole ocean.

A curious first look
Ollie the clownfish peeked out from behind a coral rock, watching a big sea anemone wave her long purple arms in the current. Every other fish on the reef swam wide around her, darting away the moment her tentacles brushed close. "Why does everyone stay away from you?" Ollie wondered out loud, tail flicking nervously. From somewhere inside the swaying arms, a soft voice answered, "Because one little touch from me stings almost anyone who tries."
Building a slippery coat
"Almost anyone," Ollie repeated, swimming a little closer. Nell the anemone swayed gently. "Come rub against my arms, little by little," she said. "It won't hurt — I promise." So Ollie brushed himself against her tentacles again and again, until a thick, slippery coat of mucus covered every scale, so thick that her stinging arms no longer noticed he was there at all.
Moving in at last
Ollie darted all the way inside, tucking himself between the swaying arms as easily as slipping into a warm blanket. Outside, a big, hungry-looking fish swam past and flinched away the instant it brushed a tentacle. Inside, Ollie didn't feel even a tingle. "This is the safest little house in the whole reef," he laughed, doing a happy loop through Nell's arms.
Standing guard together
One morning, a hungry butterflyfish named Bellamy drifted close, nibbling at the soft edge of Nell's arms. "Hey!" Ollie zipped out in a flash of orange, chasing Bellamy off with quick, determined loops until the butterflyfish swam away toward easier snacks. Nell's tentacles curled gratefully around him. "Thank you, Ollie," she said. "You keep me safe just as I keep you safe."
Roommates for life
That evening, Ollie shared his supper, letting little crumbs drift down into Nell's waiting arms, food she could never catch on her own. As the reef glowed gold with the setting sun, Ollie curled up snug among the tentacles that once seemed so dangerous. "We look out for each other now," he murmured sleepily. And from all around him, Nell's soft arms swayed like a gentle goodnight hug.
